How to unsubscribe from Etsy emails

The fastest way to unsubscribe from Etsy emails is on the website: sign in at etsy.com, click Your account → Account settings → Emails, uncheck everything under Your Subscriptions, and hit Save Settings. The big catch is that this only works in a browser - the Etsy app has no email controls at all, only push notification toggles. The other thing to know is that Etsy mail is really two streams: Etsy's own marketing (Etsy Finds, coupons, recommendations) and shop updates from individual sellers you subscribed to, and each is switched off in a different place on the same page.

Method 1: the Emails tab in Account settings

1. Open etsy.com in a browser and sign in. Do not bother with the app - email settings are web-only.
2. Click Your account (profile icon, top right), then Account settings.
3. Select the Emails tab.
4. You will see two groups: Your Notifications (favorites activity, feedback requests, and similar) and Your Subscriptions (Etsy Finds, coupons and promotions, shop updates).
5. Uncheck what you no longer want and click Save Settings.

Etsy Finds is the one to kill first - it is the curated shopping newsletter that lands most often, and it has its own dedicated checkbox.

Method 2: the footer unsubscribe link

Every Etsy marketing email carries an Unsubscribe link in the footer. Etsy redirects it to the same email settings page rather than doing a one-click opt-out, which is mildly annoying but has an upside: you land on the full checkbox list, so you can clear every stream in one visit instead of one list at a time.

Method 3: shop updates from individual sellers

When you favorite a shop or tick "updates from this shop" at checkout, that seller can email you through Etsy. These are per-shop subscriptions, so opting out of Etsy's marketing does nothing to them. Remove each shop under Your Subscriptions on the Emails tab, or use the footer link on that shop's email. Direct Messages from a seller about an open order are separate again and keep working, which is what you want mid-purchase.

Verify it actually stopped

Etsy's split between site marketing and seller subscriptions means it is easy to clear one stream and assume you cleared both. What stays on: order and policy emails

Purchase confirmations, shipping updates, refund notices, and messages about an active order are transactional - they continue no matter what you uncheck. Etsy also notes it is legally required to email both buyer and seller when an order is placed and to notify you of Terms of Use changes, so those have no opt-out box at all.
