General

What is ClearMyInbox?

ClearMyInbox is a web app that helps you take control of your inbox. Connect your email account, and we'll scan it to find all your marketing and newsletter subscriptions. You can then unsubscribe from the ones you no longer want - individually or in bulk.

How does it work?

You connect an email account using secure OAuth or IMAP. We scan email headers and metadata first - the List-Unsubscribe header, sender address, subject line, and date. When a sender doesn't include a standard unsubscribe header, we parse the email body's HTML to extract the unsubscribe URL only. We then show you a list of senders with options to unsubscribe, delete emails, or keep them. We do not store email body content, train AI models on your data, or share email contents with third parties beyond the AI provider call described in our Privacy Policy.

Which email providers do you support?

We support a wide range of email providers:

  • Gmail - via Google OAuth
  • Outlook / Hotmail - via Microsoft OAuth
  • Yahoo Mail - via Yahoo OAuth
  • iCloud Mail - via IMAP with app password
  • AOL Mail - via IMAP with app password
  • Fastmail - via IMAP with app password
  • Any IMAP-compatible provider - including ProtonMail (via Bridge), Zoho, GMX, and more
Is it free?

Yes! The Free plan gives you 3 scans per month with 1 email account. If you need unlimited scans, up to 5 accounts, auto-unsubscribe, email deletion, AI spam scoring, and more, you can upgrade to Pro. See our pricing page for details.

Privacy

Do you read my emails?

No. We scan email headers and metadata - sender address, subject line, date, and the List-Unsubscribe header - and parse email HTML only to extract unsubscribe URLs. We never store or share your email content. Learn more on our Security page.

Is my data safe?

Yes. OAuth tokens are stored in Azure Key Vault, IMAP passwords are encrypted with AES-256, and all communication uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2+. We host on Microsoft Azure in the EU. Read the full details on our Security & Data Practices page.

Do you sell my data?

No. ClearMyInbox is funded by subscriptions, not advertising or data sales. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Can I revoke access?

Yes, at any time. You can disconnect any email account from your dashboard. You can also revoke access directly from your Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo account settings. When you disconnect, all stored tokens for that account are permanently deleted.

What's the Lifetime plan?

The Lifetime plan gives you all Pro features forever with a single one-time payment. No recurring charges, no surprises. You get lifetime access to every Pro feature, including any future updates. See the current Lifetime price on the pricing page.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period - you won't lose access mid-month.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. We offer a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase for both Pro subscriptions and Lifetime plans. Contact us at support@clearmyinbox.ai within 14 days for a full refund.

Troubleshooting

The scan didn't find all my subscriptions

Our scan looks for the List-Unsubscribe header and common unsubscribe link patterns in email HTML. Some senders don't include standard unsubscribe links, or use non-standard methods. Try running a scan with a longer date range (Pro users can scan up to 365 days). If a sender is missing, it likely doesn't include a machine-readable unsubscribe link.

Unsubscribe didn't work

Some senders take 24–48 hours to process unsubscribe requests. Others have broken or non-functional unsubscribe links. If you're still receiving emails after a few days, try the "open link" option to manually visit the sender's unsubscribe page. Unfortunately, we can't force a sender to honour their own unsubscribe link.

How long does it take to confirm an unsubscribe worked?

We verify every unsubscribe automatically by scanning the same sender 14 to 30 days after the unsubscribe is recorded. Until that verification runs, the sender shows as Pending on your dashboard. Once verified, the sender moves to one of three states: Successful (zero or near-zero emails after unsubscribe), Partial (50%+ reduction but still receiving some), or Failed (no meaningful drop). Most senders resolve at the 14-day mark; the rest are confirmed at 30 days.

I can't connect my email

Make sure you're using the correct email provider. For Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo, we use OAuth - just sign in with your email account. For other providers (iCloud, Fastmail, etc.), you'll need an app password. Check our provider setup guide for step-by-step instructions.
