How to unsubscribe from Quora emails

A Quora unsubscribe takes about 90 seconds via quora.com/settings/email, which lists every email category in a single grid. The most common complaint is the Quora Digest - a daily or weekly roundup of "questions you might be interested in" that runs aggressive winback messaging if you stop engaging. Below covers the settings page, the in-email link, and what to do if Quora keeps emailing after you have already opted out.

Method 1: the Quora email settings page

This is the only place that exposes every category at once.

  1. Sign in and open quora.com/settings/email.
  2. You will see a grid: rows are notification types (Digest, Answers to questions, Comments on your answers, Upvotes, New followers, Direct messages, Topics you follow, Marketing) and columns are channels.
  3. Untick every checkbox in the Email column.
  4. Scroll down and click Save Changes. Without saving, the unticked boxes revert.

The Quora Digest gets its own row because it is the highest-volume category. Many people focus on it and forget the smaller categories (upvotes, comments) which together still create a steady drip of mail.

Method 2: in-email Unsubscribe link

Every Quora email has an Unsubscribe link at the bottom. It is signed so you do not need to log in, but it only kills the specific category for that email.

Gmail and Apple Mail surface Quora's List-Unsubscribe header as a one-click button at the top of the message - the fastest single-category opt-out.

Method 3: Quora mobile app

If you only use the Quora mobile app, the email settings sync between the app and web but the path is different:

  1. Open the Quora app and tap your profile avatar.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. For each section, switch off the Email column.

Method 4: bulk-unsubscribe everything

Quora is one of many community sites that email aggressively for engagement: Reddit, Stack Overflow, LinkedIn, Medium. ClearMyInbox finds every sender in your inbox that publishes a List-Unsubscribe header and lets you opt out from many at once.

Permanent fix: delete the Quora account

If you no longer use Quora, deleting the account stops every email permanently because the account is gone. Open Settings → Privacy, choose Delete account, and confirm. Quora holds the account for 14 days as a grace period; it is genuinely deleted after that.

Frequently asked questions

How do I unsubscribe from just the Quora Digest?

Open quora.com/settings/email and untick the Digest row in the Email column. The digest has its own toggle separate from answer notifications, follower mail, and topic updates.

Quora keeps emailing me - why?

Quora has at least eight separate email categories: Digest, Answers, Comments, Upvotes, New followers, Direct messages, Topic notifications, and Marketing. The footer Unsubscribe link only stops the category that sent that specific email. To stop them all, use the Email settings page.

How do I delete my Quora account so emails stop forever?

Open Settings → Privacy and choose Delete account. Account deletion processes over 14 days, during which you can reverse it. After deletion, emails stop entirely because the account no longer exists.

I deactivated my Quora account but still get emails. What now?

Deactivation is reversible and Quora retains your data. Marketing and digest emails sometimes continue under "we miss you" winback campaigns. Use the in-email Unsubscribe link or fully delete the account to stop them.

Does unsubscribing from Quora delete my answers?

No. Email opt-out and your published content are unrelated. Your answers, questions, and profile stay public. Only delete the account if you also want the content removed.
