Method 1: untick Email news and updates

1. Sign in to your workspace, then open my.slack.com/account/notifications. It resolves to the Notifications tab of your account settings.
2. Locate the Email news and updates section.

4. There is no save button drama - unticked means unsubscribed.

Slack is explicit that opting out of every listed type does not silence administrative mail: password resets, sign-in alerts, and similar account messages keep arriving. Billing receipts for paid workspaces behave the same way.

Method 2: quiet the mention and DM emails

If your complaint is "Slack emails me whenever a colleague pings me", the marketing checkboxes will not help. In the app, open Preferences → Notifications and switch off email notifications for mentions and direct messages. These only fire while you are inactive on desktop, and rather than arriving one by one they get bundled and sent every 15 minutes or hourly - so dialing the frequency down is an option short of turning them off.
