How to unsubscribe from Wolt emails

The quickest Wolt unsubscribe is inside the app: open your Profile tab, go to Settings, and switch off the marketing permissions there. Wolt is a Helsinki-based, DoorDash-owned delivery service operating across some 25 countries, and its privacy statement commits to two other routes as well: an unsubscribe option in every direct marketing message, and honouring opt-out requests sent to its support addresses. Because Wolt operates largely in the EU, withdrawing marketing consent is a GDPR right it must respect. Order receipts and courier updates continue regardless.

Method 1: app settings

  1. Open the Wolt app and tap the Profile tab.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Find the notification and marketing consent toggles and turn off email marketing. Push and SMS have their own switches, so review those too.

Wolt's privacy statement explicitly says you can amend consent "within the Wolt App", so this screen is the authoritative control, not a courtesy.

Method 2: the unsubscribe link in the email

Every Wolt direct marketing message carries an unsubscribe possibility - that wording comes straight from Wolt's own privacy statement. Scroll to the footer of the promo that annoyed you, click the link, and confirm. This route needs no login, which helps if you signed up with a social login you no longer use.

Method 3: object by email (GDPR)

Wolt lists support@wolt.com and privacy@wolt.com as contact points and states that users can prohibit the use of their personal data for direct marketing, market research, and profiling. A one-line email objecting to direct marketing covers every channel at once and creates a paper trail if anything slips through later.

To round up everything Wolt has sent you first, search from:wolt.com in your mail client. That surfaces the promotional streams alongside receipts, which is useful for spotting whether the mail bothering you is genuinely marketing or a transactional message you cannot opt out of. If you have used Wolt in more than one country, expect campaigns localised per market, since promotions are run city by city.

If Wolt mail creeps back

The usual relapse pattern is a re-granted permission: a new order placed in another country, a Wolt+ trial, or a consent prompt accepted without reading. Rather than assuming silence means success, ClearMyInbox runs a follow-up check on the sender roughly thirty days on and reports plainly whether Wolt stayed gone or resurfaced. It is the difference between hoping an opt-out worked and seeing evidence that it did. The same relapse-prone behaviour shows up at Deliveroo and Zomato.

Fallback: block or filter

Stubborn promos can be intercepted at the mailbox instead. Gmail users: filter the Wolt promo sender to Skip Inbox or Delete, scoped tightly so receipts survive. Outlook users: Sweep the address or add it to Blocked senders. Keep the filter narrower than the whole wolt.com domain.

What you cannot switch off

Transactional messages are exempt from every marketing control: order confirmations, delivery-status updates, receipts, Wolt+ billing, and password or login emails all keep flowing because each is triggered by account activity. If food delivery promos in general are the problem rather than Wolt specifically, work through how to stop food delivery emails for the full playbook.

Frequently asked questions

Is Wolt owned by DoorDash?

Yes. DoorDash completed its acquisition of Helsinki-based Wolt in May 2022, and Wolt operates as a DoorDash sub-brand across Europe and Asia. Your Wolt account is still separate, so a DoorDash opt-out does nothing to Wolt emails and vice versa.

Will unsubscribing stop Wolt order receipts?

No. Receipts, order confirmations, and courier updates are transactional messages tied to orders you place. Marketing opt-outs never touch them.

Can I opt out of Wolt marketing without the app?

Yes. Every Wolt direct marketing message must include an unsubscribe option, so the footer link works on its own. You can also email support@wolt.com or privacy@wolt.com and ask for your data to be excluded from direct marketing.

Does Wolt+ membership change what I receive?

Wolt+ perks and billing generate transactional mail that continues either way. Wolt+ promotional offers, on the other hand, are marketing and stop when you withdraw marketing consent.

Why am I still getting Wolt emails after opting out?

Check whether the surviving mail is actually transactional, and whether push or SMS is the real source. If genuine marketing keeps coming, use the footer link on that specific email and escalate to privacy@wolt.com, citing your objection to direct marketing.
