How to find the unsubscribe link in a Klaviyo email
Every Klaviyo unsubscribe link lives in the same spot - the very bottom of the email, below the company physical address, in small grey text. Klaviyo is the email marketing platform behind tens of thousands of DTC and ecommerce brands (think Olipop, Magic Spoon, Brooklinen, Allbirds, Chubbies, Lume) so once you know where to look in one Klaviyo email, you know where to look in all of them. Below covers how to spot the link, the difference between Unsubscribe and Manage preferences, and how to opt out of many Klaviyo brands at once.

Spotting the Klaviyo Unsubscribe link
The Klaviyo email template has a consistent footer layout. From the bottom up:
- The brand's physical address (CAN-SPAM requires this for every marketing email).
- A small text line with two or three options separated by pipes: Unsubscribe | Manage preferences | View in browser.
- Sometimes a line of social-media icons above the unsubscribe.
The text is intentionally subtle - small, grey, and similar to body copy. Brands cannot legally hide it, but they can style it to be hard to notice. Look for the words "Unsubscribe" or "Opt out" specifically.
Unsubscribe vs. Manage preferences
Klaviyo gives brands two configurations for the footer:
- Unsubscribe - one click opts you out of every list the brand has you on. Click, land on the confirmation page, done.
- Manage preferences - opens a page with checkboxes for each list (Marketing, New arrivals, Back-in-stock, VIP, Abandoned cart). You can untick some and keep others.
Choose Unsubscribe if you want the brand gone entirely. Choose Manage preferences if you want to keep, say, shipping/order updates and back-in-stock alerts but lose the daily promo blast.
One-click unsubscribe in Gmail and Apple Mail
Klaviyo emails include the standard List-Unsubscribe mail header (RFC 8058) for any brand that has enabled it. That makes Gmail's and Apple Mail's native top-of-message Unsubscribe button work without you needing to scroll to the footer.
- Open the Klaviyo email.
- Look at the top of the message, just below the sender line. In Gmail there is a small Unsubscribe link next to the sender address.
- Click it. Gmail sends the opt-out request directly.
Bulk-unsubscribe from every Klaviyo brand at once
Klaviyo powers email for so many DTC brands that the average ecommerce shopper ends up on dozens of Klaviyo lists - one per brand. Hunting down 30 footer links is the slow way. ClearMyInbox scans your Gmail or Outlook inbox, identifies every Klaviyo-sent sender (and every other sender using List-Unsubscribe), and lets you tick and opt out of all of them in one confirmation. The same one-click protocol that Gmail uses behind the scenes, just at batch scale.
What if no Unsubscribe link appears at all?
Every Klaviyo-sent marketing email is required to expose an Unsubscribe by US and EU law. If you see none, the message is probably transactional (order confirmation, shipping, password reset) and opt-out does not apply. Transactional emails only fire on real account events. If you suspect a marketing email is missing the link, report it - Klaviyo investigates and brands risk being deplatformed for missing footers.
Frequently asked questions
What is Klaviyo and why is it in my email? ▾
Klaviyo is an email marketing platform used by tens of thousands of ecommerce and DTC brands - Magic Spoon, Olipop, Brooklinen, Glossier, Chubbies, and many more. When you sign up for one of these brands you are added to a Klaviyo-managed mailing list. The unsubscribe link looks the same across all of them because they all use the Klaviyo email template.
Where exactly is the unsubscribe link in a Klaviyo email? ▾
Scroll to the very bottom of any Klaviyo-sent email. Below the company physical address (which CAN-SPAM requires) you will see a small line with Unsubscribe or "Unsubscribe from this list". It is usually grey or under-lined and lives next to "Update preferences" or "View in browser".
Does the Klaviyo Unsubscribe link work for every brand using Klaviyo? ▾
Yes - the link is generated per recipient per brand, so clicking it inside an Olipop email opts you out of Olipop, not every Klaviyo-sent brand. Each brand has to be unsubscribed separately.
What is the difference between Unsubscribe and Update preferences in a Klaviyo email? ▾
Unsubscribe removes you from every list the brand has you on. Update preferences (Manage preferences) lets you stay on some lists - say, "Order updates" - while leaving others like "Promotions" or "New arrivals". Most brands expose at least Marketing, Product launches, and Back-in-stock as separate preference toggles.
I clicked Unsubscribe but emails kept coming - why? ▾
Two reasons. First, some brands run multiple Klaviyo lists (newsletter, VIP, abandoned cart) - the Unsubscribe link sometimes only opts you out of the list that sent that specific email. Use Update preferences and untick every list to be sure. Second, transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping) often come from Klaviyo but are not subject to opt-out under CAN-SPAM.
