How to unsubscribe from Plex emails

The fastest way to unsubscribe from Plex emails is the dedicated preferences page at plex.tv/email-preferences: sign in, hit Unsubscribe from ALL, and click Update Preferences. Plex splits its mail into two streams - Marketing Emails (the "new on Plex" newsletter, feature launches, Plex Pass promos) and Discover Emails (friend activity and what-to-watch recommendations) - and the recommendations stream is usually the noisy one. Method 1: the Plex email preferences page (recommended)

1. Open plex.tv/email-preferences and sign in with the account that receives the mail.
2. Review the two streams. Turn off Discover Emails to stop recommendation and friend-activity nudges while keeping product news, or use Unsubscribe from ALL for a clean sweep.
3. Click Update Preferences and wait for the "Preferences Updated" confirmation.

This is a genuinely good preference center by streaming standards - one page, clearly labeled streams, and an all-off button. Compare that with discovery+, which has no preference center at all.

Method 2: the footer link in any Plex email

Every Plex marketing and Discover email has a footer unsubscribe link. It carries a personal token, so it lands on the same preferences page with your identity pre-loaded, no password needed - if the token has expired, the page asks you to sign in instead. Gmail and Apple Mail also expose Plex's List-Unsubscribe header as the native one-click Unsubscribe button at the top of the message.

Method 3: mailbox filters for the leftovers

Server-share invites and access notifications arrive because a specific person shared a library with you - they are account mail, not marketing, so the preferences page does not silence them. Unsubscribing is not canceling: Plex Pass and rentals

If you meant the subscription, Plex Pass cancellation lives in your account settings at plex.tv under subscriptions - not on the email page. Monthly and annual passes stop renewing at period end; lifetime passes have no renewal to cancel. Canceling does not stop marketing email, so flip the preferences too. Verify it actually stopped

Preference changes apply to the next send, so a queued newsletter may still land in week one. After that, anything arriving is either the stream you left on or transactional mail - check which. Plex's privacy policy is explicit that administrative messages, service announcements, and terms-of-service notices cannot be opted out of.
