How to unsubscribe from Twitch emails
To do a Twitch unsubscribe, the global control panel is at twitch.tv/settings/notifications. Twitch separates notifications into three channels per category - In-app, Mobile push, and Email - which lets you keep mobile alerts for streamers going live while killing the email noise. The catch is that per-channel "follow this streamer" preferences can override the global setting, so if you previously turned on email for a specific channel, you also need to clear that.
Try ClearMyInbox free - bulk unsubscribe in one click, free for the first 3 scans.
Method 1: global Twitch notification settings
- Sign in and open twitch.tv/settings/notifications.
- You will see categories in rows, channels in columns. Categories include Live broadcasts, Recommendations, Bits and rewards, Suggested channels, Twitch updates, Promotions and offers.
- For each row, switch the Email column off.
- Twitch saves automatically.
Method 2: clear per-channel email overrides
Twitch allows you to opt into email alerts for specific channels even when the global setting is off. If you used the bell icon on a streamer's page to enable email for "Live broadcasts", that override survives.
- Visit the channel page of any streamer you follow.
- Click the bell icon below their name.
- Uncheck the Email channel.
There is no global list of channels with email overrides - you have to revisit each one. If you only get "X is live" emails for one or two streamers, this is the targeted fix.
Method 3: in-email Unsubscribe link
Every Twitch email has an Unsubscribe link in the footer. It is signed with a token, so it works without a login but only opts you out of that single category. Gmail and Apple Mail also expose Twitch's List-Unsubscribe header as a top-of-message one-click button.
Method 4: bulk opt-out across gaming and streaming platforms
Twitch is part of a wider cluster of services that send aggressive engagement email: YouTube, Discord, Steam, Epic Games, Battle.net. ClearMyInbox scans your inbox, finds every sender that publishes a List-Unsubscribe header, and lets you opt out from many at once.
What about Twitch Prime or Amazon-driven emails?
Twitch Prime (now Prime Gaming) emails come through Amazon's marketing infrastructure under a separate Amazon account list. You may need to also update your Amazon email preferences at amazon.com/gp/gss/manage-permissions to silence the Prime Gaming bonus offers.
Frequently asked questions
Does unsubscribing from Twitch emails affect my channel subscriptions? ▾
No. Email opt-out and channel subscriptions are unrelated. Paid channel subs continue billing until you cancel them under Settings → Connections → Subscriptions. Email opt-out only silences notifications.
Where do I manage Twitch email notifications? ▾
Sign in and open twitch.tv/settings/notifications. The page lists every notification category with separate toggles for In-app, Mobile push, and Email.
How do I stop "X is live!" emails for specific channels? ▾
Per-channel live notifications are controlled from each channel page, not the global settings page. Visit the channel, click the bell icon below the streamer name, and uncheck the Email channel.
Can I unsubscribe from Twitch without an account? ▾
Yes - the footer Unsubscribe link in any Twitch email works without a login. It is signed to your address but only opts you out of the specific category.
Will I miss Drops or rewards if I disable Twitch emails? ▾
Drops are claimed inside the app or web inventory page, not via email. Drop claim reminders also surface as in-app notifications. Disabling email does not affect your ability to claim Drops or other rewards.
